it’s 3 a.m. again awakened by the dream. catch your breath just long enough for that familiar scream. is there a cure? some secret way to shake this. the state in lieu of that. restless fitful and dreamless. pharmaceutically seamless. medications made for nights like these. numb and calm and so painless. chemically induced greatness. until the demons give out. it’s 4 a.m. again still shaken from the dream. it’s not enough to know exactly what the nightmare means. is there a cure? some secret way to shake this. the state in lieu of that.

welcome to the new regime. we can’t help you anyway. just a cog in the machine. grovel for a paycheck while they play. road to nowhere, running fast. it’s a myth that we all buy. selective memory of our past. sink or swim, it’s all a lie. i’m supposed to be on top of the world. free of all the worry and the care. don’t you want to be on top of the world? come on up and join me if you dare.
3.
a short summation of our time. secret embraces angry words and gallons of cheap wine. nothing secure to undermine. buried alive and left for dead. there’s something still to find. bent from both ends a bit too hard. each one onot broken but not far off. some bitterness to heal the scar left on your heart. a declaration of our crime. out in the open left unsaid. pretend it’s out of mind. but still it poisons from inside. can’t undo and can’t forget and sorry is the biggest lie. take it out once in a while. dust it off once in a while. try it on once in a while. dust it up once in a while.

P.I.S.D. 03:09
countdown to the new cool has come. androgyny is the new fun. 20 somethings are here to save. and now your mustache will be shaved. post-ironic. neurotoxic. beneath the detachment. pins and needles. shock that feels. like a wave of atom bombs. slip that skinny ass into your jeans. wake up 30 and lose your dreams. i wanna be just like dad. don’t tell me that it’s all a fad.
